Deal memos

A deal memo is read into the deal it describes. Drop a PDF, a Word file, a text file or a scan on New project, or on Project details under Deal memo. Nothing is created until you confirm what it found. A Content Preparation project has no memo.

Read from the memoWhere it goes
Titles, films or series, seasons and episodesThe catalogue, and the deliverables each title owes
Territories and their languagesThe deal’s territories and languages, and the deliverables made per language

While it reads

The memo's own pages turn as they are read, and the lines under them say what has happened: sent and checked, each page or part, then what was found, with counts. A memo of more than twelve pages is read in parts. The reading runs on the server: closing the dialog stops nothing, and opening New project again picks it up.

Territory groups

A memo that licenses a group of territories, such as Spanish-speaking Latin America, comes back as one territory per country, each tagged with the memo's name for the group. A well-known group the memo names without its countries is expanded to them, and a group that comes back with fewer countries than the memo lists is asked about again. Deliverables are made per language, never per group. Keep territory groups as groups on Model Context switches this; it is on by default.

When it is not read

When no model has answered for several minutes, the memo is not read yet. The file is kept: Try again reads it once more, and Fill in by hand opens the details to enter yourself. A file that cannot be read says why, with Try again.

On a deal

Project details keeps the memo beside the deal spec, with Add an amendment for a later one. Anything read from the memo opens locked, so it is clear what was proposed; one click makes it yours. A memo read and not yet applied says Read, not applied; choosing it applies that reading, with no second read.
